Erica Duncan, Maggie Bride
When my boyfriend and I went to the beautiful California Mendocino Coast one July weekend in 2010, I had no clue that he would be proposing to me that weekend. Needless to say, I got the surprise of my life when after dinner one evening we drove to the ocean, not a single person in sight; it was just us, the crashing waves against the rocks and the fog horn in the distance. It was the most romantic proposal yet somewhat eerie as everything seemed to stand still for a few seconds. I of course said “Yes!” Fast forward to wedding dress shopping and I had no clue what style I wanted. I’m not the typical girl that dreamt about her dream wedding or her dream wedding gown. My wedding was Oct 15, 2011 and at the beginning of March I was still dress shopping with no luck. I can remember my wedding coordinator saying, “Girl you better get on it!” I must have tried on dozen dresses then a dozen more…then a few more. When I tried on the Adore, my 30th dress, I knew. I didn’t break out in tears, I just stood there and I knew, my mom looked at me, the other customers in the bridal salon looked at me, and like the moment when my boyfriend proposed to me there was a stillness in the air. I knew this was the dress…everyone knew the Adore was the dress!
